The story is common knowledge. XTC, a non-touring band, adopted their alter ego as The Dukes of Stratosphear between the recording and release of "The Big Express" and "Skylarking", writing and producing "25 o'clock" as if they were still in 1967 and stereo had just been made popular. With a couple of songs that came across as melodic as "Sgt. Pepper," guitars turned up like a Kinks Pye B-side, and the engineering skills of John Leckie, the resulting album is somewhere in the pantheon of greats between Evolution, Their Satanic Majesties Request, and S. F. Sorrow... The master was cut by Jason Mitchell at Loud Mastering Studio and pressed on 200 gram vinyl to satisfy even the most discerning audiophile listener.Reviews"Indeed, in songs such as 'My Love Explodes' and especially in 'The Mole From The Ministry' play so strongly with the with the sound of the Beatles, you'd think you were you might think you're dealing with a lost album by the mushroom heads..."
