For The Game, Queen worked with Reinhold Mack for the first time. At his Musicland Studios in Munich, the producer reinvented the band's sound. Queen sound more polished here than before and deliver an unabashed pop album. Mack, who also worked as a recording engineer for the Electric Light Orchestra, introduced Mercury and his colleagues to new recording techniques. On The Game, Queen use a synthesizer (Oberheim OBX) for the first time, though still with restraint. Another One Bites The Dust and Crazy Little Thing Called Love became worldwide successes.
