"The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn" is Pink Floyd's debut album. Originally, the record was released in 1967.The recordings took place at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London. Norman Smith, who also worked as a sound engineer for the Beatles, was at the mixing desk. "The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn" is the only album they recorded without their later frontman David Gilmour. Instead, band founder Syd Barrett musically directed the songwriting and recording.Highlights on "The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn" include the songs "Astronomy Domine", "Lucifer Sam", "Matilda Mother" and "Interstellar Overdrive".
