"The Trouble with Fever" is the fourth solo album overall from Grammy Award-winning and multi-platinum singer-songwriter Michelle Branch, and follows 2017's "Hopeless Romantic" (2017), which once again earned the musician glowing reviews. The songs were co-produced by Branch with her husband Patrick Carney (The Black Keys)

As Branch reports, the unfamiliar living conditions ensured that she was able to develop freely creatively: "The album took its start during the 2020 lockdown, when Patrick and I were squatting at home in Nashville. At first, I wasn't even aware that there was an album in the making - it was primarily about staying sane. We had plenty of time to make music together and try all kinds of different things in the studio."
